Free AVTA Bus Pass for ALL Students
AVUHSD works hard to remove barriers of many kinds for students, and today we’re excited to share that starting immediately, ALL students may obtain a FREE AVTA bus pass that is valid through June 2024.
We are pleased to announce that the Antelope Valley Transit Authority’s Go Pass Program is now available to all students served by the Antelope Valley Union High School District. This initiative grants free access to all Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA), and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Authority (LACMTA) bus routes. Please note that all Go Pass holders are subject to the AVTA Customer Code of Conduct, and misuse will be subject to the decisions and actions of the AVTA.
This program requires approval from a parent or guardian. Please provide the
information requested in the permission slip and return it to our library. This will authorize the issuance of an AVTA Go Pass to your student. Authorization also indicates your acknowledgment of the service provided through this program and the possible outcomes due to any identified misuse.
Feel free to reach out to Principal Mercier at zmercier@avhsd.org if you have any questions.
Students who enroll in the Associated Student Body class (ASB) do so because they recognize that there is more to being successful in school than simply doing homework. Having a positive atmosphere during the school day where students feel wanted and accepted is critical to their success. ASB class members focus on providing engaging activities that ensure a well-rounded high school experience for all students.
We are the Associated Student Body (ASB). This is the LnHS Student Government. Students work together to better the school climate by creating interactive and engaging opportunities for all students at LnHS. ASB students will work with teachers, staff, community members, school administration, our school district and our school board to extend the voice of our student body and help bridge a connection between all stake holders.
Students in ASB plan, organize, and participate in such activities as formal and informal dances, Homecoming, Spirit Weeks, grade-level competitions, community awareness projects, cultural events, fundraisers and Staff Recognition throughout the year.
Students must maintain high academic and citizenship grades to remain in the class and are additionally required to work approximately 10 hours each month outside of the class. Students are chosen for the class each spring for the following school year. If you are interested in being a leader at LnHS, consider applying to the class by March 29, 2024.
PROM Season is fast approaching!! Fill out the application and here is what else you need to know.
