Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 2:45 – 3:45pm and Wednesdays: 1:05 – 2:05pm.

No tutoring on the following days: Oct. 24, Nov. 20 & 22, Dec. 18 & 20, Jan 13 & 30, Feb. 19, Mar. 18 & 20, Apr. 22, May 20 & 27.  For more info and questions, contact the Asst. Principal’s office.

ATTENTION FROM LIBRARY: Students, if you have overdue textbooks, novels or library books your parents will be receiving an email letting them know that you have not returned them and the cost of the books and the fines. Please return them before school, during snack or on your lunch, not during class time. We have a shortage of books! Thank you so much!!   9/4/19-9/18/19

ATTENTION ALL WORKING MINORS:  If you have already turned in your work permit applications and did not see Mrs. Beane on Monday, please see her this Friday during both lunches. 9/11/19-9/18/19

GIRLS SOCCER MEETING: If you are interested in playing soccer for Lancaster High School, you must attend the mandatory meeting today, September 18, 2019. The meeting will take place in the small gym at 1:15pm right after school. 9/11/19-9/18/19

SOFTBALL MEETING: All returning Varsity and JV players and girls that are interested in playing softball for the 2020 season, there is a meeting on September 19th on the softball field at 3pm. No equipment needed, just a meeting about the upcoming season. The meeting will last about 30 minutes to an hour. Please let your parents know so you have a ride after the meeting. 9/11-9/19/19

LAST THURSDAY WE HAD A GREAT TURN OUT FOR THE LNHS BIBLE CLUB IN ROOM 323.  Please feel free to join us every Thursday for some fun, fellowship, and bible messages.  Once again, that's every Thursday in room 323. 9/18/19

HOMECOMING COURT APPLICATIONS…  Are now available on the bulletin board across from the Activities Office!!  If you are interested in running for court please 1) fill out application, 2) pay the $5.00 at the Accounting Office, then 3) bring the Receipt & Application to the Activities Office no later than Friday, 9/20/19 by 3:00 pm. 9/11-9/18/19

THERE WILL BE ANOTHER MEETING FOR THE CLUB GIRLS WHO CODE…. On Monday, September 23rd, in room 240 at 3pm.  You do not need to have a background in coding, all levels are welcome.  We will learn how to code within the club!  Everyone is welcome.  Come join for fun, friendship, food and learning.  Hope to see you there, Ms Guertin. 9/18/19

GSA WILL BE HOLDING AN EVENT ON SEPTEMBER 23RD…. during both lunches. There will be a photo booth set up on the concrete stage for free. They will also be selling awareness ribbons for .25 cents. 9/18/19

GSA…. also known as the Gay Straight Alliance, would like to announce their return for the 2019-2020 school year. We offer a safe place for LGBT students and those willing to support them, as well as a way for students to learn about events and the history of LGBT. GSA meetings are on Tuesdays with Ms. Seelos in room 124. 


HOMECOMING DANCE: Homecoming applications are now available on the bulletin board across from the Activities Office. Deadline to turn in your applications to the Activities Office is Wednesday, October 2, 2019 by 3:00 pm. 9/11/19-10/2/19

PICTURES ARE HERE!!!  If you ordered pictures during Freshmen Orientation or on Make Up Day they are available for pick up in the Activities Office!!  You may pick your pictures up before or after school, during break or lunch.  9/11-TBD

College Attire and Spirit Wear – Every Wednesday we celebrate and recognize higher education by wearing our college attire. We encourage our entire school to wear gear from a college or university they’ve attended, are hoping to attend or just like to promote. - - Every Friday we pump up school pride with Spirit Wear. That’s all things LHS Eagles. You can get your LHS Gear on campus at our Eagle store or online at Go Eagles!

College Information Night Tuesday, October 22 at the AV Fairgrounds from 4:30pm-7pm. Please join us as we welcome over 70 universities and colleges, technical and trade school, military representatives for our annual AVUHSD CIN. The evening will offer financial aid, scholarship & college essay workshops, college admission tips as well as information on the numerous AVUHSD programs.

Homecoming Join us this October 4th at 7pm as your Varsity Football Lancaster Eagles take on the Hawks of Knight High School in our Homecoming Game. This is Lancaster High’s 25th Anniversary so it promises to be a good night.

Back to School Night was a great success this year. Despite the heat, hundreds of families showed to meet their students’ teachers, speak to the different front office departments Athletics, Activities, and Counseling and attend informational workshops on financial aid, NCAA, English Learner Program and Tittle 1. Thank you to all who came out. We hope to see you again in the spring for Open House.

Tutoring is available for your Lancaster High School student.

·         Face to face tutoring is available every school day in the library for an hour directly after dismissal.

·         Online Live tutoring is available 24 hours a day through Princeton Review by accessing the Live Tutor link in the left menu area of our students’ PowerSchool Portal

·         Several online videos are also available for different subjects on

·         Of course, students can also ask their teachers when they are available during non-class time like before/after school or lunch for additional assistance

Yearbook Sales – Yearbooks are currently available for purchase at the student store $75.

AVUHSD App – The AVUHSD App connects you to all things district or school related. Users can choose the specific school sites to receive information for, view district calendars, connect to Powerschool, email teachers etc. The app can be downloaded in both the Android and Apple App stores.

Announcements in Bulletin – There is now a link within Powerschool to check the bulletin. Just click the School Bulletin in the menu on the left and stay informed.

SSC: Would you like to have direct input on how school funds are used? Monthly reminder: According to the National Center for Educational Statistics “it is clear that participation and success (in extracurricular activities) are strongly associated...better attendance, higher levels of achievement, and aspirations to higher levels of education.”

Please talk to your student about going one of our clubs or athletic teams. We look forward to seeing them in these roles as well.

Parent Volunteers

Welcome Parents! We Need You! There are many opportunities to become involved at Lancaster High School. We have a very active Parent Volunteer Program. No amount of time is too little. Sometimes just an extra hand is all that is needed.

Welcome Parents! We Need You! There are many opportunities to become involved at Lancaster High School. We have a very active Parent Volunteer Program. No amount of time is too little. Sometimes just an extra hand is all that is needed. To join you must be 21 years of age and pass an extensive background check. When you come in for a scheduled appointment, you must fill out an application. Please bring with you a current Driver’s License or CA ID card and proof of Tuberculosis (TB) clearance within the last four years. These documents along with the completed application will be taken to our District Office. They will contact you to schedule an appointment for your Live Scan (fingerprinting). We will pay the Live Scan fee for parent volunteers once applications have been completed. Once you have received security clearance from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and our Board of Directors, you will be notified that you are clear to volunteer. You will be directed to come in to the LHS and obtain an ID badge.

Here are some of the areas and activities we need volunteers:

ACADEMIC & SENIOR AWARDS NIGHT – hand out programs, set up & serve refreshments

ATHLETICS – assist under the supervision of the coaches

CAREER CENTER - InFoSnap (minor training to assist other parents), bilingual (esp. Spanish) is helpful

CHAPERONING – events locally & field trips under the supervision of teachers

CLASSROOM – Arabic translators under the supervision of classroom teachers

COPYING – mailers, graduation programs, etc.

FILING - (after minor training) – Records Department & Health Office

GRADUATION ACTIVITIES – Cap & Gowns, grad ticket sells, distribution of diplomas, etc.

REGISTRATION – copying health records, monitoring traffic, InFoSnap (after training), etc.

ROBOTICS – assist students under the supervision of mentors & advisors

TEXTBOOKS – distribute in the Fall and reclaim in the Spring
